Red Bull Announces Significant 2026 Driver Roster: Hadjar Elevated, Teenager Lindblad Earns Grand Prix Debut.

The Red Bull team has confirmed a major reshuffle for the 2026 F1 campaign, promoting Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its main squad and giving 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his maiden F1 drive.

The young driver, who is of Swedish and Indian heritage, will be team-mate to Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the junior outfit VCARB.

This reshuffling sees Japan's Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive following a five-year stint.

The New British Hope

Lindblad has been tagged as a prodigy by Red Bull since he was 12 years old.

Discussing the team's young driver programme, a senior Red Bull figure noted last year that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", praising his "natural quickness".

Red Bull has had a plan for some time to prepare Lindblad for his potential Grand Prix bow in 2026, featuring appearances in Grand Prix practice at the British and Mexican races.

Lindblad stated it was a "proud moment", adding: "Next season represents a huge step, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm eager to work closely with the team and rise to it. I can't wait to get started."

He has won a couple of victories in F2 so far this season and is sixth in the standings heading into the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

A Major Opportunity for Hadjar

The Frenchman's debut season started on a low note when he spun out during the warm-up lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. But, since then, he has emerged as one of the stand-out rookies this season.

He included an outstanding podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits 10th in the championship.

The team principal said: "Hadjar has shown impressive growth and demonstrated to be a fast adapter. Most importantly, he has the innate pace that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can excel alongside Max."

The promoted driver called it "an incredible opportunity" and said he felt "ready".

The Lawson Decision

To partner Lindblad at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have preferred Lawson instead of Tsunoda.

The New Zealander began the season with the senior squad but was moved back early in the year. He has settled back in at the junior outfit with notable results, convincing Red Bull he deserves another season.

Tsunoda, meanwhile, has been ejected after a disappointing season. His best result is a P6, and he has scored a small fraction of the team's points total.

The driver market moves confirm that there remains no place on the Red Bull academy for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 for 2026.
