A group of ten sentenced of online harassment directed at Brigitte Macron

A Paris court has found guilty ten people for perpetrating the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the partner of French President, Emmanuel Macron.

The accused individuals faced charges of circulating false claims regarding her sex and sexuality, in addition to posting hurtful comments about the husband and wife's significant age difference.

The court delivered conditional custodial sentences of a maximum of eight months to the perpetrators. The complete verdict has not yet been published.

A persistent unfounded claim alleging that Brigitte Macron is a transgender woman has been in circulation since her husband's initial election in 2017.

This latest legal outcome in France comes as the Macrons initiating a legal action for defamation in the US against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted comparable unfounded claims about the Brigitte Macron's identity.
